The Uses and Abuses of Biology (UAB) Programme at the Faraday Institute, St Edmunds College, Cambridge, is inviting students and recent graduates aged 30 or younger to enter its 2012 essay competition to "explore the ways in which contemporary genetics both challenges and underpins notions of human freedom, value and identity."

1st prize = £1000
2nd prize = £500
3rd prize = £250

The competition deadline is 30th September, 2012.
